Rancho Cordova Schools Celebrate Milestones

School is back in session, and Rancho Cordova schools have a lot to celebrate.

Proclamation to Public Waldorf Schools AM Winn Elementary and George Washington Carver High School

On October 7, 2019, AM Winn Elementary and George Washington Carver High School were each presented with a Proclamation from the Rancho Cordova City Council in honor of the 100th Anniversary of Waldorf Education globally.

George Washington Carver High School was the first public Waldorf high school to open in the United States and is currently one of only three public Waldorf high schools in the nation.

Aspiring Medical Professionals Have a New Career Pathway at Cordova High School

Students at Cordova High School seeking careers in medicine will now have a new option to pursue their dreams. The school’s growing International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme has added a medical pathway to its lineup.

Students in the program can now complete a new, two-year Patient Care career pathway. The Patient Care pathway helps set students on a path to potential careers in medicine, everything from doctors to nurses, medical assistants to physical therapists, and more. 

Cordova Meadows and White Rock Elementary Schools Earn State Awards for School Climate

Cordova Meadows and White Rock Elementary schools have been selected as Silver Award recipients from the California Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Coalition.

The PBIS Coalition is a framework for supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of students to reduce major disciplinary infractions and bullying. Cordova Meadows and White Rock Elementary will be recognized at the fourth-annual California PBIS Conference on October 28 and 29.
