Suspicious Death Investigation on Starrlyn Way
The initial stages of this investigation revealed the 47-year-old male victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body. This suspicious death is now being investigated as a homicide. No further information is available at this time.

At approximately 6 AM on November 19, 2019, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Communication Center received a call regarding an injured male at a residence in the 2100 block of Starrlyn Way in Rancho Cordova.
Deputies arrived at the scene and located an adult male victim suffering from an injury to the lower body. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures. Fire personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The cause of the injury to the victim is unknown at this time. Detectives believe there were other subjects at the residence at the time of the incident that fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival.
Homicide detectives are on scene and their investigation is ongoing. Detectives do not believe there is an immediate threat to the community at this time.
The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
